Eternal Gandhi Museum Houston Celebrates International Day of Yoga 2026

HOUSTON, TX – June 20, 2026 – The Eternal Gandhi Museum Houston (EGMH) welcomed 47 guests to its annual International Day of Yoga Celebration, held Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. on the museum’s beautiful grounds. Admission to the event was free and open to the community.

The celebration began with a group meditation at the iconic Gandhi Statue in the museum’s courtyard. Museum co-founder and trustee Dr. Manish Wani opened the program with a welcome address, followed by remarks from Ms. Anju Malik, Consular and Community Affairs Officer at the Indian Consulate.

The cultural program continued with a traditional prayer sung by Ms. Bhuvana Krishnan, setting a spirit of unity and mindfulness for the afternoon. Guests then participated in a community yoga session, followed by a singing bowl sound bath and guided meditation.

In addition to the yoga programming, all attendees received complimentary admission to the museum’s exhibits. Guests enjoyed exploring and participating in My Journey, the museum’s interactive exhibit inviting visitors to create personalized posters reflecting their commitment to nonviolence.

The Eternal Gandhi Museum Houston is proud to honor this tradition each year by bringing the Houston community together in the spirit of peace, wellness, and Gandhian values.
