Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Eternal Gandhi Museum Houston. Volunteers play an essential role in the Museum, helping to provide an impactful experience for the visitors.
Volunteer Positions
Admissions
Volunteers at the admissions desk will greet visitors, process ticket sales and memberships. They are responsible for answering general questions about the museum.
Musem Docent
Museum docents conduct guided tours of the museum for groups of students and adults by
utilizing techniques of facilitated dialogue, role play and storytelling. Experience or education in history, political science, art, or teaching can be helpful, although not required.
Greeter/Floater
The Greeter/Floater Volunteer is responsible for welcoming visitors in a friendly manner, answering any questions the visitor may have, and informing visitors of museum information and guidelines.
Gallery Host
Our Gallery Hosts provide required attention to sensitive areas of EGMH’s galleries, remind visitors of museum guidelines, and field questions from the public. This is a perfect opportunity for those interested in future participation in our docent program.
Office/Administrative
Office volunteers provide support in the administration of the Museum. Responsibilities of these volunteers include answering telephones, general office work such as copying, filing, and stuffing materials for mass mailings.
