EGMH Inaugural Golf Tournament
Weather Gods were smiling on Eternal Gandhi Museum Houston’s first charity golf tournament on Monday, October 10th at Willow Fork Country Club in Katy, Texas.
75 players divided into 19 teams competed in this fun filled tournament.
Registration started at 11:30 AM with contestants preparing afterwards at the driving range and then participating in the challenging putting contest where the Gandhi stamp collection was proudly displayed.
All registrants had the opportunity to view the 3D model of the Eternal Gandhi Museum Houston prominently displayed at the pavilion where the registration took place.
Volunteers cheerfully handed out goody bags which included a sleeve of balls, aluminum sports bottles (both with EGMH logos) and golf towels donated by Wallis Bank.
A delicious, healthy lunch was sponsored by Subway.
Michael Lagace, golf pro from Willow Fork Country Club, provided instructions to all the participants and the tournament started at 1pm sharp using a shotgun format.
It was a gorgeous day with light winds making it a picture-perfect day for participants. The teams competed in the 18-hole, scramble format tournament.
EGMH Board of Trustees members, Atul Kothari, and Ajit Paralkar, drove around in their golf cart clicking action shots of all the players with their teams. Please visit https://tinyurl.com/2p8m7vuc to view photo album created by Ajit Paralkar.
After finishing 18 holes, the official scorecards were handed to the golf pro upstairs in the ballroom where all were treated to a delicious all you can eat Italian buffet dinner. Dr. Manish Wani gave a brief update on the construction of the Eternal Gandhi Museum Houston and encouraged all to get involved and learn more about the project at egmh.org.
The Golf Pro tabulated the scores, and the following teams were awarded the beautiful plaques by EGMH Co-founder and Trustee, Mr. Atul Kothari:
