School Field Trips

The Eternal Gandhi Museum Houston offers curriculum-aligned school field trips that support classroom instruction while introducing students to the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi. Programs are aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and national education frameworks, reinforcing academic content, ethical reflection, and civic responsibility.

School field trips at EGMH are interactive, reflective, and age-appropriate. Guided tours and discussions are tailored to grade level and curricular focus, helping students connect historical study with contemporary civic and ethical questions.

Admission: $10/ student (Free for Teachers and Chaperones).

TEKS Alignment by Grade Level 

Elementary School

(Grades K–5)

Students explore concepts of empathy, truthfulness, and peaceful problem-solving through stories from Gandhi’s life.

Middle School

(Grades 6–8)

Students examine civic responsibility, ethical leadership, and global awareness through nonviolent movements.

High School

(Grades 9–12)

Students engage in historical analysis of civil resistance, leadership, and democratic participation.

National Standards Alignment 

Programs also align with national education frameworks, including:

Planning & Scheduling

Advance scheduling is required. Educators are encouraged to share grade level and instructional goals when requesting a visit so museum staff may tailor the experience. Reviewing Hours & Admission and Plan Your Visit information is recommended prior to scheduling.

Group Size & Supervision 

School field trips are available for groups of 10+. Adequate adult supervision is required for all student groups. Museum staff and trained docents support group flow and engagement.

Preparing Students for the Visit
