Youth Engagement
The Eternal Gandhi Museum Houston is committed to engaging young people as thoughtful learners, ethical leaders, and active participants in building a more peaceful and just society. Youth engagement programs create opportunities for students and young adults to explore the values of truth, nonviolence, peace, love, and service through dialogue, reflection, creativity, and action.
Purpose of Youth Engagement
Youth engagement initiatives at EGMH are designed to:
- Encourage critical thinking and ethical reflection on justice, peace, and social responsibility
- Foster leadership grounded in empathy, courage, and civic responsibility
- Create constructive spaces for youth voice, expression, and dialogue
- Connect historical lessons and movements to contemporary challenges
- Inspire young people to apply Gandhian values in their daily lives and communities
Who Can Participate
Youth engagement programs are open to middle and high school students, college and university students, youth leaders, youth-led organizations, and student clubs, service groups, and councils.Programs are tailored by age group.

Youth Dialogues & Conversations
Facilitated discussions that invite young people to explore themes such as nonviolence, justice, leadership, identity, and social responsibility in a respectful and guided setting.

Youth Leadership & Service Programs
Programs that encourage leadership development and service-oriented learning, connecting Gandhian principles to community engagement and civic responsibility.

Workshops & Interactive Learning
Hands-on sessions that combine discussion, creative expression, and experiential learning to help youth connect ideas with action.

Youth-Led Programs & Initiatives
Opportunities for young people to propose, design, or co-facilitate programs in collaboration with museum staff, fostering ownership and leadership.
Connection to the Museum Experience
Youth engagement programs are closely connected to the museum’s Exhibits and educational mission. Participants are encouraged to engage with Exhibits , Lectures & Talks, Community Programs, and Education Programs to place their learning in a broader historical and ethical context.

Propose a Youth Program or Initiative
Youth organizations, educators, and student leaders interested in collaborating with the museum are encouraged to reach out to explore opportunities for youth-focused programming.
