The Eternal Gandhi Museum Houston offers curriculum-aligned educational programs for students in grades K–12. Programs include docent-led school field trips, guided educational tours, and learning experiences that support classroom instruction in history, civics, and character education.

Yes. All school programs are curriculum-aligned and support the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) as well as nationally recognized education frameworks. Tours are adapted by grade level and designed to reinforce classroom learning objectives.

Educational programs are available for elementary (K–5), middle school (6–8), and high school (9–12) students. Programs are tailored to be age-appropriate and developmentally suitable.

Students explore the life and values of Mahatma Gandhi, principles of nonviolence, ethical leadership, civic responsibility, and connections between history and contemporary social issues through the exhibit journey: His Journey, Our Journey, and My Journey.

School visits are typically docent-led to ensure an engaging and structured educational experience. Guided tours include discussion and reflection appropriate to grade level. The Digital Guide may also be used to enhance learning.

Most school visits last approximately 60–90 minutes, depending on group size, grade level, and program structure.

We can accommodate groups of up to 150 students. Educators are asked to provide the number of students and chaperones on the registration form so appropriate arrangements can be made.

Educators should complete the School Field Trip Registration Form available on the museum website. Required information includes school details, contact information, preferred dates, grade levels, group size, and curriculum focus.

All school visits must be scheduled in advance. We recommend submitting the form at least 2–3 weeks in advance.

No. Submitting the registration form is a request only. A visit is confirmed only after you receive a confirmation email from the museum.

$10 per student; teachers and chaperones are admitted free.

One adult chaperone per 15 students is required. Chaperones must remain with their student group for the entire visit.

Adult supervision is required for all student groups. Teachers and chaperones are responsible for student behavior during the visit. Chaperone guidelines are shared during the confirmation process.

Yes. The museum is fully accessible. Educators are encouraged to note accessibility needs or special accommodations on the registration form so arrangements can be made in advance.

Educational materials and assessment tools are available in English and Spanish to support diverse classrooms and English-language learners.

Yes. Pre-visit and post-visit lesson prompts, student worksheets, assessment rubrics, and teacher guidance are available to support classroom integration.
