Eternal Gandhi Museum Houston (EGMH) proudly joined the global community in\u00a0celebrating International Museum Day on Sunday, May 18, 2025 with a day filled with\u00a0inspiration, education and unity. The event drew an enthusiastic crowd and was a tremendous\u00a0success, further solidifying EGMH\u2019s role as cultural and educational pillar in the Houston\u00a0Community. EGMH would like to extend special thanks to the Houston Chronicle for helping\u00a0promote this event and amplifying our mission to wider audience.<\/p>

Throughout the day, the museum\u2019s parking lot was at\u00a0full capacity, as visitors flocked to experience the\u00a0exhibits. In fact, the museum saw a record number of\u00a0attendees, excluding school field trips, and the Gift Shop\u00a0also achieved its highest sales to date. The EGMH team\u00a0is deeply grateful to all those who visited and expressed\u00a0such enthusiastic support.<\/p>

One of the most rewarding aspects of the day was\u00a0hearing visitors express their appreciation for the\u00a0museum’s presence in Houston. Below are a few remarks\u00a0shared by attendees:<\/p>

“It is truly inspiring to have visited the museum today.”<\/p>

\u2022 “We want to thank the museum’s management for bringing such a world-class, state-of the-art institution promoting peace and nonviolence to Houston.”<\/p>

\u2022 “The ‘My Journey’ gallery was especially meaningful to me – it inspired me to commit to\u00a0making the world a better place.”<\/p>

\u2022 “Every child in Houston should visit this museum.”<\/p>

\u2022 “I\u2019m visiting from India, and I\u2019ve never seen a museum dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi\u00a0like this in India.”<\/p>

\u2022 “I\u2019ll be telling everyone I know to visit this captivating and inspiring museum.”<\/p>

In addition to our regular staff, EGMH was\u00a0fortunate to have a dedicated team of over a\u00a0dozen volunteers who were essential in making\u00a0the day a success. From leading docent-led tours\u00a0to assisting visitors with gift shop purchases and\u00a0providing additional information about the\u00a0exhibits, their support was invaluable.<\/p>
